Have your say on Wick conservation

Wychavon are reviewing the Wick Conservation Area to ensure it continues to protect this important area including making more of the village part of it.

The council is looking to change the conservation area boundary by publishing a Conservation Area Character Appraisal and Management Plan.

The appraisal identifies the special interest of the conservation area and will be taken into account when planning applications in the area are considered.

The management plan looks at how the preservation or enhancement of the conservation area can be best achieved in future.

Carol Marsden, Senior Conservation Officer said “Wick dates back to Saxon times and the quiet village we see today would once have been a busy farming community straddling the main route between Pershore and Evesham. Much of what we see today in the village has its roots in that early development over a thousand years ago and we want to ensure that we protect it for future generations.”

There will be a presentation on the review and an opportunity to ask questions at The Club in Wick on Tuesday 7th August starting at 6.30pm

Information will also be available on our website, at the Civic Centre and the public library in Pershore and at The Club in Wick during normal opening hours.

Parking in Wychavon

There has been some confusion regarding the free parking throughout Wychavon’s car parks – parking was free from 6pm on Wednesday until midnight Sunday (29th) there have been some reports that it is still free and this is causing confusion with residents.
